Welcome on behalf of the Arab Open University, Bahrain. First, we are delighted with the result of the 2015 National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training’s review of three programs offered by the University. The Computing and Information Technology Bachelor Program, The Business Management (Management Systems) Bachelor Program and the MBA Programme (offered by the Malaysian Open University and hosted by the AOU Bahrain Branch) have been awarded the highest quality grading (4 out of 4, Full Confidence)in the periodical review conducted recently by Bahrain’s National Authority for Qualifications and Quality Assurance of Education and Training. Such an achievement could not have been accomplished without the unwavering support provided by the University Headquarters and the commitment to the highest quality standards in integrated education, which is adopted by Arab Open University’s Board of Trustees.
Secondly, I also would like to express my overwhelming pleasure for the messages of received from His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal Al Saud, Chairman of the AOU Advisory Panel for Buildings, His Excellency Lt. Gen. Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of the Interior, and of His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the messages received fromthe honorable ministers and officials in the Kingdom of Bahrain. These messages confirm the success of the newsletter, and entails for us an immense responsibility to work hard and persevere in order to maintain this precious trust.
The third great news is the University’s students’ obtaining a shield of appreciation for their participation in the Eighth Conference of Student Research in the Field of Information and Computing Technology, which was hosted by Zayed University in the UAE on April 27 and 28, 2016 and winning the second place in the football tournament of the private universities. This shield came in recognition of the research they presented in the conference and as a reward to the University’s efforts and encouragement of faculty and students’ participation in scientific conferences.
Honoring Dr. Hanan Nasser, a member of the University’s faculty, has been awarded a shield and a certificate of appreciation at the "Distinguished" Ceremony, organized under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, in recognition of her excellence in scientific research. The honor bestowed on Dr. Hanan translates the University’s commitment to and support of research output in concretization of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to consolidate the dissemination of knowledge and scientific research as one of the University’s fundamental pillars.
