The General Studies Department at Arab Open University, Bahrain Branch, in cooperation with the Department of Student Affairs, organized a seminar on Consumer Protection on Wednesday, 24 October 2018. The seminar was presented by the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain, for the purpose of raising the consumers’ awareness in general and the young people in particular (being the largest consuming segment of society).
The seminar also highlighted the legal articles and the Ministerial decisions in relevance, to clarify the rights and duties of both consumers and merchants alike. It also discussed the procedures of legal protection, commercial fraud prevention and the legal means available to the consumers in the Kingdom of Bahrain in case of commercial fraud. The seminar was well attended by about 70 students from different disciplines at the university.
