Inspired by the thought-provoking talk of the artist Jamaan Alrowaiei, the members of the English Club agreed that the 4th of December 2018 session will be completely devoted to explore different aspects of their creative acting talents. They selected a short story by the famous American writer Edgar Allan Poe “The Tell-Tale Heart” and divided themselves into groups. All forms of intellectual and artistic potential were allowed and welcomed. So, a group played the roles of journalists who interviewed people who knew “the madman.” Another group focused on having a long monologue that revealed the hidden motives for the murder that took place. The last group rewrote the ending of gothic short story and introduced new characters. The students were very creative in using sound effects, music, voice, props, and make up.
It was a highly engaging activity which stimulated and activated the concealed and dormant abilities and talents the students possess. The success of the acting session motivated them to pursue the dream of having a bigger and more ambitious acting project.
