The Arab Open University (AOU) has achieved a new milestone by winning the IDC CIO Excellence Awards – Kuwait 2026, in recognition of its pioneering information technology and digital transformation project.
The award followed strong competition among a number of institutions and organisations in Kuwait. AOU’s project stood out for its institutional impact and innovative use of modern digital solutions to improve operational efficiency and enhance academic and administrative services.
This achievement reflects the University’s successful implementation of its digital transformation strategy and its commitment to fostering a culture of institutional innovation.
Prof. Dr. Omar Al-Jarrah, Vice President for Planning and Development, received the award during a ceremony held at the Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel in Kuwait on 14 September 2026.
