The Arab Open University (AOU) participated in the 2026 Arab Universities Summit (THE Arab Universities Summit), organized by Times Higher Education in partnership with Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The summit is being held in Ben Guerir, Kingdom of Morocco, from 3 to 5 November 2026, under the theme “Collaboration and Progress: Towards Advancing Excellence in Arab Higher Education.”
The AOU delegation was headed by the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zakari, and included Dr. Omar Hali, Director of the AOU Morocco Branch, along with members of the branch team, Ms. Zainab Al-Mutawaa and Mr. Mahdi Choukri.
The summit brings together university presidents, policymakers, and experts from the higher education, government, and industry sectors to explore ways to strengthen collaboration among Arab universities, enhance the quality of education and scientific research, and expand cross-border academic partnerships.
The University’s participation underscores the Arab Open University’s commitment, through its presence across several Arab countries, to actively contributing to the development of a shared Arab vision for the future of higher education and strengthening its presence at regional and international forums.
