Prof. Al-Zakari Chairs 67th AOU Council Meeting
The Arab Open University Council held its 67th meeting on Wednesday, 25 September 2019 chaired by Prof. Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Zakari, President of the University, and in presence of the council members who attended in person and via videoconference.
Starting the meeting, Prof. Al-Zakari welcomed the attendees and congratulated them on the new academic year 2019-2020, as well as commended all work sectors' efforts at the AOU-HQ and the AOU branches and the important role played by the University in providing educational opportunities for many people in the Arab world in order to achieve the vision of the University Founder, the late Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, may Allah the Almighty have mercy on him.
During the meeting, the council approved the previous meeting minutes and discussed the implemented discussions and recommendations. It also reviewed the financial performance report of the academic year 2018/2019 and a group of reports concerning a number of AOU regional centers and workshops.
In addition, the council approved the list of the AOU graduates for the academic year 2018/2019 as well as a number of academic and administrative proposals and recommendations.
The Council concluded its meeting with the stress on the importance of maintaining the work towards more achievement and commitment to fulfill the requirements of the accreditation bodies as well as the provision of more educational opportunities to all youth of the Arab world, and towards meeting the needs of labor markets with highly qualified graduates.
