The Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University held its regular meeting last Thursday, 18 December 2025, at the University’s premises in the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.
The meeting addressed a range of strategic issues related to the University’s ongoing journey. The Board discussed developmental and expansion projects in several Arab countries, reviewed the most notable qualitative achievements accomplished during the recent period, and examined the development of the University’s strategic plan in a manner that strengthens its academic standing and developmental mission, while keeping pace with contemporary changes in higher education.
In a gesture reflecting confidence and appreciation, the Board of Trustees congratulated the President of the University, Prof. Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-Zakari, on the renewal of confidence and his appointment to lead the University for a forthcoming term, in recognition of his sincere efforts and impactful contributions that have enhanced the University’s performance and consolidated its academic and institutional presence at both the regional and international levels.
It is worth noting that the Board of Trustees of the Arab Open University comprises a distinguished group of leading Arab intellectual and academic figures who contribute to guiding this developmental project and strengthening its humanitarian and educational mission.
