Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Talal Chairs 32nd meeting of AOU Board of Trustees in Kuwait
His Royal Highness Prince Abdul-Aziz bin Talal, Chairman of the AOU Board of Trustees, chaired the 32nd meeting of the Board held on Monday, 18th December 2019 in Kuwait. In opening the meeting, HRH Prince welcomed all the members of the Board and commended all the efforts of AOU staff in serving the University. Prince Abdul-Aziz also expressed his great pleasure to be with the Board’s members who are key figures in their Arab communities and to set developmental plans and policies to promote the University’s excellence. Prince Abdul-Aziz also pointed out the AOU’s goals and achievements as well as its plans and educational programs.
The meeting addressed the latest developments concerning the projects of the AOU buildings in some countries and its expansion plans through opening new branches and regional centers in some Arab countries. In addition, the AOU strategic plan of Information Technology was presented, and the amendments to salary scale and to some administrative bylaws and regulations were adopted during the meeting.
At the end of the meeting, the Board commended the AOU senior management’s achievements including honoring Prof. Mohammad Al-Zakari, AOU President with the 2019 Arab Academic Excellence Award , and obtaining a patent from the US by Prof. Naif Al-Mutiri, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research, whose patent’s title was “Heuristic fuzzy controller for gantry cranes.”
