Headed by Prof. Ali Fakiro, AOU Executive Committe holds its 50th meeting
The Executive committee of the Arab Open University (AOU) held its 50th meeting last Wednesday 7th, December 2016, which was headed by its President, Prof. Ali Fakiro and in presence of Prof. Moudi Al-Humoud, AOU President, and the Committee Members. At the opening of the meeting, all minutes of the previous meeting were approved and all implemented decisions and recommendations in addition to the working paper on developments of the AOU projects were reviewed. In addition, the committee reviewed the the implementation of the projects stages proposed by HRH Prince Turki bin Talal, President of the Consulting Body of the AOU buildings.
The meeting discussed the Performance Report for the academic year 2015-2016, the Financial Performance Report for the period (1st September 2016 till 31st October 2016), and the budget guidelines and criteria. A brief report about the workshop, which was held by the University on sidelines of the last AOU Board meeting, was presented. That workshop included some studies, such as " the compatibility of the AOU outcomes with its programmes in work labour markets". The committee also discussed the annual report of the University and a number of publishing and research regulations , and rules of professional behaviour.

Certificate Objectives The certificate offers participants a comprehensive, hands-on overview of the basic concepts, methods and abilities required from a microfinance practitioner. The certificate addresses the needs and objectives of individuals new tot eh filed and those looking to expand their knowledge in the field. The schedule is flexible and permits participants to plan their studies in accordance to their job and family responsibilities. Participants can register for the certificate at any time of the year, and it can be completed within 15 weeks. .

For the purpose of securing wider access, the program is offered within an e-learning platform. Using a multi-instructional context, the aim is to reach the learning outcomes using online learning technologies that map each participant’s learning style and by the use of non-linear teaching, the program aims to develop learners’ practical skills.
