Welcome to the Quality Assurance& Accreditation Department (QAAD) webpage. The webpage is intended to provide information on the Arab Open University Quality Assurance framework, structures, policies and procedure. QAAD is a central body within AOU Quality management framework that monitors and oversees the Quality Assurance mechanisms and processes at both Institutional and Branch local level. It plays a vital role in safe guarding the quality of the overall University Provision. It maintains a direct oversight of the internal quality processes and coordinates closely with the Open University –United Kingdom (OU UK) by virtue of its formal partnership agreement . Collaboration includes the preparations for external audit and procedures of Accreditation and Academic Programmes Validation in addition to joint quality enhancement projects. Quality Assurance activities are based on the strategic goals of AOU and are intended to support a cycle of continuous improvement and quality enhancement. AOU adopts a “fitness for purpose" approach to quality assurance and is pre-determined by its quality assurance strategy and policy. It is intended to promote quality throughout the university and to ensure that QA principles are embedded into its various functions and daily operations. Quality Assurance Measures are applicable across all university campuses.
