Arab Open University (AOU) Exam Board, plus new bilingual poetry book

Professor Aziz Thabeet Saeed – Dean of Faculty of Language Studies at the Arab Open University – and Professor John Strachan, Chief External Examiner for the OU-validated programmes of the Faculty, have launched a joint collection of poetry. The collection, named “Echoes of Love and Place", was unveiled at the final events of the Autumn 2024-25 Semester Board of Examiners that took place in Bahrain. The book features English and Arabic versions of 20 poems, 10 from each author, celebrating the evocative connections between love, place, and cultural identity through personal memories and historical resonance. Each poem invites readers to experience the emotional and geographical landscapes of the Middle East, serving as a testament to the power of place and the universality of human connection.
