Technical Summary:
V – AI Mental Health Support is a full-stack AI-driven web application developed to offer intelligent and interactive mental health support. The platform leverages modern web technologies with a React.js front-end and a Python (FastAPI) back-end. Data is securely stored in MongoDB, utilizing bcrypt for hashed credential management.
The core feature is an AI chatbot, Fattom, integrated with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Google’s Gemini API to deliver context-aware, empathetic, and informative responses. A virtual 3D character, Fatoom, handles wellness check-ins during login and onboarding, enhancing user engagement through gamified mental health interactions.
The app also includes:
Persistent chat history storage
Daily activity planners
Wellness exercise modules
Weekly mood analytics and usage statistics
Security, usability, and scalability were key considerations in the system architecture. The project demonstrates the effective integration of AI, mental health awareness, and user-focused design to promote accessible digital well-being solutions.
