Faculty of Media and Mass Communication is a distinguished academic institution for the study of media sciences and communication technology in the entire Arab region, not only because of its modern study programs and keeping with the successive technological developments in the media labour market, and the continuous practical training of its students on the latest developments in the field of information and communication technology, and providing them with practical skills that qualify them to compete in the labour market, but also because it falls under the umbrella of Arab Open University. The university has a leading and effective role in supporting sustainable development efforts and building a society of science and knowledge in Arab world. The university was founded by His Royal Highness Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz in 1996. Both the study , and the degree are under the umbrella of the university.
The vision of the Arab Open University and its mission to develop and disseminate knowledge, build experiences, prepare human forces support sustainable development efforts, and build a society of knowledge and science in Arab countries. We strive within the Faculty of Mass Communication to apply international quality standards in the teaching process and to develop a philosophy of practical training For students constantly in the light of the developments in the media labour market. The development of their intellectual and cultural capabilities reflects their excellence in their various disciplines and build their personalities in a balanced manner enabling them to interact with their societal issues. Furthermore, it help supporting sustainable development efforts and contribute to building a society of science and knowledge. Over the past years, the college graduates were able to win many awards in both local and regional competitions for launching development initiatives aimed at serving the community. Their graduation projects also reflect their competence and good academic and professional qualifications.
At last but not least, I would like to emphasize that Faculty of Media and Mass Communication always looks forward to maintaining its distinguished role as an educational and research institution. It seeks achieving a prestigious international position with the support of the wise leadership of the university. Thanks to the establishment of meaningful partnerships ,efficiency of its faculty members, and the quality of its outputs to build an effective society of science and knowledge.
